The Gedderts

Ok, Baker Park is now officially my favourite place to shoot. Having been there three times in the past couple of weeks, I'm thrilled by the number of different looks available within an easy walk, and I've still only explored a small part of the whole. It sure doesn't hurt when the light's amazing, as it was when I visited the park with the Geddert family. Add in the fact that the kids, James and Olivia, are natural models in front of the camera, and their parents, Deirdre and Kevin are perpetually beaming with pride, and you've got yourself a fine setup for some great family images.

The Bodners

The Bodner family brought me to another new location for this awesome autumn shoot: Research Park, on the northernmost edge of the University of Calgary campus, is a leafy wonderland with lots of tall trees and rolling hills. You couldn't ask for a better place to do a fall photo shoot, and the Bodners came ready to rock. Other than three year-old Charlie's unfortunate encounter with a sleeping wasp, this was a wonderful October morning - especially the homemade cookie break!

The Vierneza Family

It was a beautiful, sunny fall day - until about twenty minutes before our session, when a massive dark cloud took away the gorgeous light. Despite that disappointment, we still had a blast playing around in the Botanical Gardens of Silver Springs, capturing some energetic images surrounded by autumn hues.

The Raugusts in Baker Park

I hadn't even heard of Baker Park before Kristin suggested it to me as a place to do her family session, and boy was it a great idea! What a beautiful, open green space to take some energetic family shots. They wanted a portrait with a predominant blue feature to match home decor, and a blue walled building near the entrance fit the bill perfectly. Then, the rest of the park became our playground.
